In Show of Strength Trump Tells Christians “I Will Commit Blasphemy, and You Will Like It!”
West Palm Beach, FL – On Friday night Trump addressed a gathering of Christians in Florida to express his desire to commit blasphemy and make them enjoy it. He said “I am not a Christian, but if you vote for me you will never need to vote again. Four more years it will be fixed, it will be fine.* Christians will thank me by saying thank you can I have another.”
“This is just Trump showing off his new spiritual side” said right-wing televangelist Wally Wahlberg. “Liberals will accuse me of being a wimpy little sissy with a humiliation fetish for letting Trump abuse my religion so blatantly. That outrageous behavior from the left is exactly why I will have to do everything in my power to punish them no matter how far it causes me to stray from the teachings of Jesus.”
In response, the Harris campaign released a statement claiming Trump was once again threatening democracy, like he did on Jan 6th. The statement reminded Americans that Democrats will protect their rights, freedoms, and liberties from the threat of extremism. The full statement can be read here.
Despite the implications of Donald Trump’s statements, many Republicans found it as no big deal. Many defended Trump as a man who just says things as they are, even while made up.
“Trump slurred his speech so much we do not even know what he meant. After all, he is an old man, up past his bedtime, with early signs of dementia so I would not put too much stock in this” defended Josh Hawley (R-MO). “It was just two days earlier that he made comments about replacing generals with NASCAR drivers to revitalize our military. We do not need to worry about such things.”
Seahorseshoe knows many mainstream Christians who want to provide reasoned responses to the reprehensible actions of Republicans toward Christianity. However, we have decided that you the reader do not deserve in-depth coverage.
