We Do Not Normally Call on a Party to Drop Their Nominee but he was Convicted of Rape, Fraud, and Election Rigging
Calling for a presidential candidate to drop out guarantees victory for the other side, and should not be taken lightly. The ensuing chaos and legal battles would ensure the party loses the general election. It also usurps the will of the people. Party primaries showed 90% of the Democratic Party base to be behind Biden and 75% of the Republican base to be behind Trump.
Despite this, we have seen extreme behavior unfit for the future of our country. If we allow a candidate who was convicted of the rape of E. Jean Carroll to be a presidential candidate, we lose our moral center as a society. We tell young boys that rape is not a big deal, is even looked up to if you are one of the elites, and this cannot stand in a just America.
Trump has been convicted by jury not just of rape, but of fraud in his New York business. Here Trump was found to have lied about his assets to receive large low-interest loans that he declared bankruptcy on. And a jury found him guilty of paying off the pornstar, Stormy Daniels, to stay quiet about their relationship before a presidential election. This list only includes what Trump has been convicted of. Additional trials are open for whether he pressured public officials to falsify election results in Georgia and whether he stole classified secret documents that ended up in the hands of our enemies, causing the death of many in our intelligence community.
Calling for a candidate to drop out is tantamount to calling on them to concede an election, which is why the media should show restraint in such an action. It is not our place to override the rule of the people. We would like to point out to any Republicans concerned with this that staying the course and ruling for the moral high ground will allow for the best in our country. Joe Biden has strengthened America through his infrastructure act, created the strongest economic growth in five decades, and strengthened our standings abroad. For the first time in our life we have grown faster than China. As Biden pointed out in the debate he has decimated the Russian army with a fraction of US military spending. He has again shown he can go head-to-head with China on the chip industry, and has gone head-to-head with OPEC on oil production, providing the US incredible gains on both fronts.
In light of this we call on the Republican Party to hold off until they can bring a candidate with a clear moral center to the table. The party and the country will be stronger and in better shape four years from now in 2028 for it. For the good of America, let’s not run a rapist for president.
